Session Abstract
Whilst a career in academia is a common aspiration for PhD and Early-Career Researchers, the competitive nature of the academic job market has led many to explore alternative career paths. This panel session considers the opportunities available researchers outside of academia. A panel of accomplished professionals will share their experiences, insights, and advice on transitioning from academia to other industries. They will discuss how holding a PhD in the social sciences can prepare you for jobs, highlight the value of a PhD in the modern job market, and discuss the process of the transition.
