Despite being a buzzword for both teaching and research, interdisciplinarity lacks clear definition about how we actually do it. Speakers in this roundtable discussion contribute their thinking (and practice) on how to turn this concept into concrete action, including in the crossovers between research and teaching. With short initial presentations from the speakers followed by more open Q&A, the roundtable will consider in particular the purpose and added value of interdisciplinarity in teaching practice, the mechanisms and ideas we can use to help students internalise the core logics of interdisciplinary approaches, and the challenges that such work faces in institutional settings that are often based on a monodisciplinary basis.
