The Musical Theater Interest Group will host three short papers as part of the business meeting this year, as follows:

- Micah Mooney - "Tracing Rhyme Trends in Tony Award Winning Musicals: a Phonological and Quantitative Study"

- Dr. Nico Schuler - "The Music of Early Black Musical Theatre Rediscovered"

- Isabelle Thomas - "Leitmotivic Storytelling and the Role of the Beggar Woman in Sondheim’s Adaptation of Sweeney Todd"

Each paper will be followed by a brief Q&A period for each of our panelists. The meeting will also include an election to replace our outgoing co-chair, Makulumy Alexander-Hills.
