Session Abstract | ||
Panel: Maximizing Family Time as a Music Theory Professional The mission of the Work and Family Interest Group is to help members of SMT find a better balance between time spent on their work and family life. Our panel at this year’s SMT meeting addresses how one can maximize time with family at different stages of one's career. There will be three short presentations (see below) followed by a discussion. We invite all SMT members to participate in this discussion and share creative strategies for making time for family life while navigating and negotiating professional demands. "Motivation, Disciple, and Doing Good Work for Parenting and Completing a Dissertation" Anne Delfin (University of Cincinnati) "Prioritization, not Balance, for Maximizing Family Time as a Music Theory Professional" David Geary (Wake Forest University) “Playing the Long Game” Scott Murphy (University of Kansas) |
