Short summary:
The convergence of the current technological context and the trend toward Open Government has accelerated the digital transformation of public administrations. However, in a democracy, this digitalization must ensure both transparency in public management and the protection of citizens' privacy. Additionally, the increasing institutional complexity and legal regulations on administration, transparency, and data protection create uncertainty among archive and records management professionals, especially in organizations with limited resources.
The workshop aims to provide practical guidelines on key considerations and strategies to balance these seemingly contradictory objectives effectively. It will conclude with a discussion session where participants can share experiences and debate, along with a conversation on how the SLMT could support professional concerns within the Section’s archival framework.
