Short summary:

As a result of two PCOM projects (2023-2024), the members of the Photographic and Audiovisual Expert Group (PAAG), with the collaboration of the International Consortium of Photographic Heritage (Photoconsortium), have been working on the Rules for the Description of Photographic and Audiovisual Records. This publication establishes a series of methodological rules and procedures for the description of image records (photographs, postcards, film reports or television programs, among others) and has made an important contribution to the harmonization and homogenization of the archival description of these types of documents. This workshop aims to publicize the use of the Rules based on practical examples of real cases.

This workshop is targeted to professionals who need to describe very diverse photographic collections: postcards, portraits, press reports, albums, artistic creation, etc. People will learnt the rules that allow them to describe in a homogeneous way in order to create high quality catalogues and to publish their collections on shared platforms.
