Competencies for SDGs Implementation: New Standards of Excellence for Public Administration Education and Training

These capacity development panels, organized by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) and the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA), will disseminate and explore the application of the newly revised Standards of Excellence for Public Administration Education and Training. These Standards, finalized in 2025 after a global consultation process, aim to equip public servants and training institutions with competencies aligned to the 2030 Agenda. The panel will strengthen the capacity of public institutions to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through innovative, inclusive, and high-quality education. Sessions will focus on the rationale, structure, and application of the Standards, challenges in implementation, and the role of institutions like ICAPA in evaluating progress.
