Panel Discussion on the Topic: "Empowering Youth and Women in Agriculture: Strategies for Rural Revitalization in South East Europe" (TBD)

Session Abstract

The Agricultural Policy Dialogue Germany – South East Europe is a multilateral cooperation project led by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) and GFA Consulting Group GmbH under the Bilateral Cooperation Program (BKP). Implemented by SWG and IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH, the project supports Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Moldova.

Its main goal is to strengthen regional dialogue and support EU integration, particularly by aligning agricultural policies with the EU Green Agenda and CAP 2021-2027. It fosters cooperation through Regional Expert Advisory Working Groups (REAWGs) and contributes to the Berlin Process by enhancing regional economic and political stability.

The REAWG for rural development, women and youth contributes to a better understanding of key rural development issues to develop suitable policies for regional promotion. Since 2022, it has been dealing with the living situation of women and young people in the rural areas of the Western Balkans.
