Nilüfer Çagatay, who died in December 2022, was one of the pioneers of feminist macroeconomics, a field that has significantly grown since the establishment the early 1990s. In commemorating her work and contributions, this roundtable session traces the development of feminist macroeconomics and discusses how it transforms the way of thinking about macroeconomic issues by revealing their social content and gender dimensions. The roundtable brings together feminist economists with whom she collaborated and worked with Nilüfer in developing the feminist economics approach to macroeconomics as well as scholars whose current research are pushing its frontiers towards the attainment of a gender equitable and just world.
