Expanding LGBTI Economic Development & Empowerment in a Special Issue

This roundtable will present and discuss the plans for a special issue of Feminist Economics on LGBTI economic development and empowerment efforts and needs. Our goal is to encourage the audience to consider submitting a proposal for a paper for the special issue. Roundtable participants will discuss what we know from research in feminist development economics on economic empowerment, as well as findings from research on LGBTI people in the Global North and Global South that are relevant. We will describe the schedule for the special issue. We will also discuss resources that will be available to authors, such as data, a small grant, and travel support, as well as opportunities for partnerships with local LGBTI groups. We are still searching for a third co-editor for this issue, so a fourth slot for a speaker will be added later for that person if they can attend in person. We will all be attending in person.
