Session Abstract | ||
The New Neo-Weberian State : The Neo-Weberian State, a theme issue of Max Weber Studies (2023, vol. 23, issue 1, https://muse.jhu.edu/issue/48327), features Geert Bouckaert ’s seminal essay, updating the 4th edition of the leading textbook on Public Management Reform" by the late Christopher Pollitt and himself, the go-to resource for the past 20 years, for today’s world. The issue also includes insightful feedback from Cam Stivers and Sam Whimster, essays on the Japanese and Malaysian contexts by Hiroko Shimada Logie and Nadia Monira Mohamed Taib, and co-editor Wolfgang Drechsler’s final essay on “The New Neo-Weberian State.” The present panel presents – after several launches and discussions and a wide uptake in the scholarly community – the opportunity to hear authors and key experts on the topic debate the contemporary relevance of the Neo-Weberian State among each other and with the EGPA audience. | ||
