Emma Shubin

Emma Shubin (www.emmashubin.com) is a PhD research candidate at the University of Luxembourg, specializing in the integration of movement in early childhood instrumental music education under the supervision of Prof. Luc Nijs. Her research extends into motion capture analysis, exploring how movement impacts instrumental learning through quantitative studies. In parallel, she is deepening her practical expertise by studying to become a Laban-Bartenieff Movement Analyst.

Alongside Prof. Luc Nijs, Emma serves as the co-chair for the 7th International Conference on Dalcroze Studies, to be held in Luxembourg in 2025. As a performing artist, she is represented by Wm. S. Haynes Flutes and co-coordinates the Youth Flute Day for the National Flute Association. She is also the co-founder and Artistic Director of Integral Steps (www.integralsteps.org), a nonprofit dedicated to fostering balanced development for educators, students, families, and communities. She frequently presents workshops, concerts, and masterclasses internationally, driven by her passion for integrative, multi-modal approaches to learning and performance.
